Paul Nicholls is CEO of Recycle It Global (RIG), a waste management and recycling company he co-founded with Oscar Milverton Gatta after a conversation about the scale of the world's waste problem. His earlier career spanned the Ministry of Defence, local government, and law firm management, experience he has applied to growing RIG into a multi-site operator through acquisitions of facilities in Scorrier, Newquay, Roseland, and Plymouth.
Nicholls treats waste as a resource to be recovered rather than simply disposed of, with a particular focus on converting construction, demolition, and mining waste into usable building materials. Before pursuing any expansion, he runs opportunities through a structured evaluation framework covering feasibility, construction, operations, and R&D.
Alongside commercial growth, Nicholls has invested in workplace culture, apprenticeships, and community programs, and has backed environmental initiatives such as bioremediation and more sustainable marine dredging practices.
