Frank Schürch

Frank Schürch is CEO of energie-cluster.ch, Switzerland's largest politically neutral network for advancing energy efficiency and renewable energy. His path to the role included diplomatic postings at Swiss embassies in Russia and Chile, a term as Special Envoy for South Sudan during its independence process, and work as an ICRC delegate, alongside experience in telecommunications and fluency in six languages.

Schürch has described his move into renewable energy as shaped in part by his grandfather's view that resources are borrowed from future generations and should be stewarded accordingly. His leadership style favors adaptability, employee empowerment, and transparent communication over micromanagement, aiming instead to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking throughout the organization.

Since he took the helm in 2021, energie-cluster.ch has grown to 600 direct members and a wider network of about 70,000 stakeholders, establishing itself as a leading think tank supporting Switzerland's Energy Strategy 2050 goals, an effort he approaches using negotiation principles drawn from Getting to Yes.
