Neil Kilgour is CEO of CH4B (Central Hub 4 Business), a UK membership organization that supports small and medium-sized enterprises. He co-founded CH4B with business partner Nicola Buckby to give SME owners a single place to find vetted service providers and strategic guidance, drawing on a career that spans sales, management, and entrepreneurship.
Before starting CH4B, Kilgour rose from top salesperson to Sales Director at a national home improvement company, helping grow its revenue from £3 million to £30 million a year. He then launched his own business in 1999, which expanded to six branches and more than £10 million in turnover before ultimately failing due to overtrading and other operational problems.
Kilgour credits that bankruptcy as a formative experience that now shapes CH4B's mission, emphasizing resilience, continuous learning, and practical community support for SME owners navigating their own growth challenges.
