Miranda Mapleton

Miranda Mapleton is CEO of White Swan, a charity founded in 2016 that uses technology and data analytics to help accelerate medical diagnosis and improve treatment outcomes. She came to the role without a technology background, drawn instead by the question of how data-driven tools could genuinely save lives, after building leadership and mentoring experience at large corporations including PepsiCo and Mars.

Since launching, Mapleton has grown White Swan from a standing start into a global organization powered by more than 130 volunteers, over 30 of whom joined within the charity's first two months. The organization applies natural language processing and machine learning to analyze patterns across hundreds of millions of online health conversations, work that underpins its "Million Minds" initiative aimed at speeding diagnosis for the roughly 500 million people worldwide living with an undiagnosed condition.

Mapleton is also a vocal advocate for women in leadership, encouraging others to embrace uncertainty, ask for help, and bring clarity to ambiguous situations. She sees White Swan's combination of proprietary technology, data science, and charitable mission as what sets the organization apart in the healthcare space.
