Luthais McCash is Chief Executive and Scientific Officer of Sigma Solutions, a London-based mathematical modeling and computational simulation consultancy. He came to prominence early, publishing his first academic paper on cancer modeling and delivering a mathematical biology lecture at the University of Dundee at just 16 years old.
McCash holds fellowships with the Royal Statistical Society, the Institute of Physics, and the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, and has held an honorary fellowship at the University of Leicester alongside collaborative work with Oxford's OCIAM. In the energy sector, his modeling work helped optimize LNG delivery networks during the 2019 "Beast from the East" cold snap, reportedly cutting related costs roughly tenfold, and he has also served as Chief Research Officer for Exosuit Ltd.
Beyond his consultancy work, McCash is an active philanthropist, having directed some £7.5 million toward organizations working on cooling technology and astrobiology, and he mentors students while advising university leadership on major research investments. He frames his approach around solving complex problems through mathematical and scientific innovation, and around making sure students get real opportunities to show what they can do.
