Lejjy Gafour is CEO of CULT Food Science Corp., a platform that gives everyday investors and consumers access to cellular agriculture products. A self-taught entrepreneur with more than 15 years across biotechnology, manufacturing, and public health, he previously co-founded a Y Combinator-backed cellular agriculture company and was among the earliest operators in the space in Canada.
Gafour sits on the board of New Harvest Canada and co-founded Cellular Agriculture Canada, and has become a vocal mentor for founders from non-traditional backgrounds, arguing that meaningful innovation can come from anywhere, not just conventional academic or industry pipelines.
His approach to running CULT emphasizes cross-disciplinary thinking, treating the company less as a participant in the future of food and more as one of the players actively defining what that future looks like.
