Kristin Giebler is Owner and CEO of MAC Flooring, Inc. and MAC Remodel, Inc., two construction and design businesses she built from scratch, starting MAC Flooring out of her garage in 2011. Through networking and steady organic growth, she expanded the company into retail showrooms and a broader range of remodeling services.
Working in a historically male-dominated industry, Giebler noticed that the large majority of buying decisions in her sector are made by women, and reshaped her business around that insight, designing an inviting, design-focused showroom experience rather than the typical wall of product samples, and training her team to sell through education rather than pressure.
Her leadership style pairs empathy with accountability, and she has built a workplace culture where staff feel heard and supported, which she credits with helping attract skilled employees, including women, who are drawn to a less rigidly hierarchical way of running a company.
