Janet L. Kane is CEO of MetroTex Association of REALTORS, the sixth-largest local REALTOR association in the country with more than 22,000 members. She became the organization's first female leader in its century-long history when she took the role in 2018, bringing nearly three decades of association management experience with her.
Kane's adaptability was tested during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she moved the association's 52-person staff to remote work while expanding its educational offerings online, shifting in-person courses to a digital platform that ultimately saw increased class attendance. She also pushed advocacy efforts that helped get REALTORS designated as essential workers by local government.
She is currently leading MetroTex's most ambitious project to date, a new headquarters on a 10-acre campus intended to improve member engagement through better facilities and technology.
