Edwin Van Eijk is Founder and CEO of iStill, a company modernizing the distilling industry through precision engineering. After a career as a change manager, he turned his attention to what he saw as outdated equipment and practices in traditional distilling, designing modular stills that have become market leaders in the United States and are roughly 70% more energy-efficient than conventional systems.
Van Eijk's technology has helped smaller producers compete with much larger distilleries by lowering the energy and equipment costs of production. His engineering-first mindset treats distilling as a craft that can be improved with better tools rather than one that must stay frozen in tradition.
He has since carried that same approach into an adjacent market with the DirectRoaster, an energy-efficient roasting machine for coffee, malts, grains, and nuts, and continues to mentor other entrepreneurs working to modernize traditional industries.
