David Duplisea is CEO of the Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce, a role he has held for roughly a decade. He led the merger of four separate regional business organizations into a single entity, transforming an institution with roots dating back to 1819 into a modern, regionally focused advocacy group.
Duplisea guided the Chamber through the pandemic by quickly standing up remote work infrastructure and launching an online resource center that reached an estimated 5,000 businesses a week during the crisis. His background in information systems has informed a number of newer initiatives at the Chamber.
Among these are the Workcation program, a 'work from anywhere, live here' campaign aimed at attracting remote workers to the region, and the #LiftUpLocal campaign, designed to strengthen the local economy's resilience.
