David de Jager is CEO of Perfectly Spoken, an online English language learning platform that pairs traditional teaching expertise with modern technology. With a background in English language instruction that includes founding the Cambridge School in Barcelona, he saw a gap in global education access: while roughly two billion people worldwide are learning English, the large majority rely only on self-study, with little structured support.
He built Perfectly Spoken around a subscription model he describes as a Netflix-style approach to English learning, giving students access to general English courses as well as specialized professional and exam-preparation content, including material developed through a licensing agreement with Reuters, without requiring them to purchase individual premium courses.
De Jager has also built the platform's mission around affordability and access, partnering with NGOs to extend educational opportunities to vulnerable groups, including refugees seeking to advance their English skills and career prospects.
