Beth Shaw is founder and CEO of YogaFit Training Systems Worldwide, which she built starting in the early 1990s from her car trunk and living room into the largest yoga teacher and mind-body education company in the world. Over more than two decades, she has trained hundreds of thousands of people through a style of yoga she developed specifically for Western bodies, and built a teacher-training program that is accessible to fitness, mental-health, and wellness professionals alike.
Shaw has long argued that business should be driven by purpose as much as profit, with compassion and community impact built into how YogaFit operates. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the company moved its training online and offered free classes to people coping with anxiety and isolation, alongside newer offerings like corporate wellness webinars and a structured group weight-loss program.
She is also the author of "Healing Trauma with Yoga" and has assembled a faculty of roughly 75 master trainers, including doctors, therapists, and recovery specialists, who develop yoga-based protocols for conditions such as PTSD, fibromyalgia, and diabetes.
